Test strips are used by our technicians to measure your hot tub's pH levels within the following ideal ranges of (7.2 to 7.8) and within an ideal alkalinity range of (120 ppm to 180 ppm). 

Shock treatments of your system oxidizes the water. Our treatments differ upon the type of hot tub being served. "Shock" helps break down soap scums and organic matter (body oils, lotions and other impurities) throughout your system that quickly accumulate without consistent care. 

Alkalinity acts as a buffer for pH fluctuations during our water tests. If we notice alkalinity is low, we increase the alkalinity with sodium bicarbonate. Once alkalinity is within range, we adjust pH accordingly. Balancing your pH protects the spa equipment from scaling and corrosion, providing you complete comfort in your hot tub. 

After we add the necessary chemicals, we add water to the appropriate level before running your hot tub and spa jets. This lasts from between 15 to 30 minutes to both circulate and allow the added substances to evenly distribute throughout the system.

Re-testing the water ensures levels are within the correct range. Regular testing (weekly or with frequent use) ensures your tub remains balanced over time and preserves the quality, care and performance of your spa.
